DORSET Council just don’t get it.
At the moment all shops, pubs etc in Bridport are struggling to make a living, with a great many people shopping online as they did during lockdown.
To encourage shoppers back into town, make the first two hour free in the car parks otherwise they will go to places like Dorchester and Weymouth where they will still have to pay for parking but the variety of shops is bigger and better.
What happens when the shops start closing down in Bridport through lack of business? There will be no need for people to visit so the car parks will be empty anyway, for goodness sake Dorset Council you should be helping our Bridport businesses not trying to wring every penny you can get out of the car parks.
