A Bridport shop has celebrated its 20 year anniversary.

Naturalife Bridport opened its doors in June 2000 and celebrated its 20th anniversary a couple of months ago. The health food shop is owned by Kim Biss who has had an incredible two decades with her store.

The shop has stayed open throughout the pandemic as it is classed as an essential service and staff have been working hard to do deliveries for customers unable to get out to go shopping themselves.

This new way of doing this has been a change for staff. They said: "From the thrill of seeing lots of people in the shop (this never wears off!) to now only allowing one customer at a time, with a queue outside, we are in strange unprecedented times."

Hannah Bourne, assistant manager of Naturalife Bridport, said of the anniversary: "We wanted to have a big party but we couldn't because of the lockdown. We wanted to celebrate that we are still here 20 years on and it looks so different now so it's amazing looking back and seeing the changes. It has been nice to have some positive news during this challenging time."

Staff at Naturalife Bridport said: "We are lucky to be on a street that is full of independent businesses which has given South Street Bridport its’ own eclectic, slightly bohemian identity.

"We may not be having the big anniversary bash that we had planned for right now to celebrate 20 years of Naturalife Bridport but that can wait. We are incredibly proud to be here, in our happy place here on the high street as an independent business and able to serve our wonderful loyal customers at a time when everything seems so uncertain.

"Kim has created here a truly special shop and we, as her team, feel really proud to be part of it."
