Members of Bridport Millennium Green have decided to hold their AGM in the open, rather than cancel the meeting.

Trustee secretary Paul Bennett said: “We had to cancel our normal June meeting, which was of course planned to be held inside, now as outside occasions are deemed to be more Covid-19 safe and that the trust is responsible for gardens, a meadow and a wood, we feel it’s particularly appropriate to have our annual meeting in the open Covid-19 restrictions will be observed.

“At the same time, we hope to further our consultation on the green’s 2021-2025 five year management plan. We would really like to hear people’s views on the area and their suggestions for the future.

“The consultation has also been interrupted by the coronavirus. We now have an online consultation at smartsurvey.co.uk/s/A5IDW0. We are trying to keep paper copies to a minimum as a virus safety measure. They will be available when display boards are set up around the Millennium Green at various times and usually at the raised beds at Mountfield on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 12noon. We also hope to have a display at some point in the TIC.”

During the lockdown, Millennium Green proved very popular with people doing their exercise and daily walks. Now the lawn is being booked for events.

An annual open meeting is planned for August 20 at 6.30pm on Millennium Green. All are welcome to attend.
