Restaurants, pubs and cafes have been encouraged to sign up for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which starts today (Monday).

The scheme will give customers a 50 per cent discount (up to a maximum of £10 per diner) on food and soft drinks when they dine out every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between August 3 and 31.
