Two local musicians have been entertaining care home residents during lockdown, keeping them singing and lifting moods.

David Powell and Chris Briant visited Harbour House and Sydney Gale over the past few weeks, singing outside the lounges to ensure social distancing while residents joined in with songs and reminiscences.

Jules Walker, Sidney Gale’s entertainments manager, said: “Residents at Sidney Gale House enjoyed a lovely afternoon of entertainment from David and Chris.

“Music is always so important for lifting mood, stimulating memory and just enjoyment. The benefits of singing together are well-documented and we have really appreciated some socially distanced entertainment in these difficult times.
