THE community came out in force to pay tribute to a popular young farmer who died in a crash.

Huge crowds gathered in Beaminster on Saturday night to remember Harry Isaacs, who died in a crash near Mosterton, on July 21.

He was 20 years old.

His death has sparked an outpouring of love from his family, friends and the wider community, and social media has been flooded with moving tributes to the young man 'whose smile always lit up any room.'

The farming community led an impressive convoy of tractors from Mosterton to Beaminster on Saturday evening, where the community and members of Harry's family held a moving vigil in The Square.

Holding back tears, Shelly Dumper said of the evening: "It has been a beautiful evening and with an amazing turnout. We expected a good turnout but people really have come from far and wide. It's very fitting for Harry."

Harry's friend Shaun Corthine described him as 'big-hearted' with 'the biggest smile', saying: "He'd be over over the moon with how many people turned out."

Candles and tributes were left in The Square and Harry's friends released balloons into the air in his memory.

Prior to the event, Harry's family issued a tribute to him.

It said: “We, as Harry's family, have suffered a great loss and words can't describe the pain we are feeling. Harry is a much loved son, brother, grandson and nephew. His smile always lit up any room and his energy was infectious.

“Harry had much love for working in his local farming community and had great passion for the animals he cared for. In Harry's last months he fulfilled a lifelong dream to have a piece of land, his tractor and his beloved pony Coco.

“Harry has many friends from Beaminster, Bridport and Sherborne who have truly shown their love and friendship for him during this sad time. Has family has been deeply touched by all the kind messages and tributes dedicated to Harry, which has given much comfort.

“We would like to give all our gratitude and thanks to everybody. Harry Isaacs - a life taken too soon, sleep well our angel.”

Emergency services were called to Chedington Lane shortly before 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 21.

Police received a report of a collision involving a small International Harvester tipper tractor.

Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services. Sadly, the driver, 20-year-old Harry Isaacs, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is being supported by officers.

Officers are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of the collision and would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage and has not already spoken to police to contact Dorset Police.
