Work to repair land slip near the A35 is starting today.

A single lane closure is in place on Chideock Hill for the work to be carried out, which is scheduled to be completed in October.

A spokesman for Highways England, which looks after the A35, said it is not the A35 that is slipping, it’s a landowner’s field adjacent to the road.

They said: “The Chideock Hill section is ordinarily three lanes, with two lanes up and one down. The lane closure will still leave one lane running in each direction, so no disruption in terms of traffic flow.”
