I am in agreement with William (June 25) about noise pollution.
A few years after the link road opened, in response to a request from Dorset Police for citizens to report anti-social behaviour, I wrote to the Chief Constable, to ask why his traffic officers were not monitoring the ear-splitting noise made by motorcycles blasting off from the Crown roundabout, principally at weekends.
I received a reply from a sergeant saying that whilst they could measure the Db levels of cars, their equipment did not enable them do the same for motorcycles.
One would have expected something to be available by now but until it is it appears we shall have to endure the noise.
