A youth theatre group has helped make a video record of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dorchester Youth Theatre, which is currently unable to meet for its usual weekly sessions, has made the Coronavirus Time Capsule while meeting for drama sessions on video conferencing app Zoom.

Senior members of the group have worked alongside groups of teenagers in 16 countries across the world to make a week-by-week video record of the pandemic through the eyes of teenagers.

The Coronavirus Time Capsule has been created by London-based Company Three to provide teenagers with support, connection and a space to be creative during this time.

Company Three held a virtual gathering to close the project and to launch their new website. Several of the project’s participants took part, including members of Dorchester Youth Theatre.

Also taking part and answering questions from young actors was lead actor Jamael Westman from the West End production of Hamilton.

Jo Simons, DYT’s artistic director said "This project gave our young people a place to feel connected at a time when many of them felt very isolated. It gave them an opportunity to be creative and let off steam, knowing they were part of something global."
