The new-look Rock Point Inn has officially opened after being closed for almost two years.

The Lyme Regis pub, the first pub in Dorset for St Austell Brewery, opened its doors yesterday (Monday).

Originally built in the 18th century, the grade II listed pub was bought by the brewery in 2018 and has since been renovated and also has nine new guest bedrooms.

Steve Worrall, managing director of St Austell Brewery’s pubs, inns and hotels, said: “We’re delighted that the Rock Point Inn is now officially open. It’s been a tough few months, so the long-awaited opening of our first pub in Dorset feels like a very special moment.

“The Rock Point is in a great position, right in the heart of Lyme Regis with stunning waterside views, and just a few steps away from the front beach. We can’t wait to welcome local back to the pub as well as those looking to visit the west country this summer.

“As we have in all our managed pubs, we have introduced extra measures to the Rock Point to keep our guests and pub teams safe - from our new easy order app and hand sanitising stations, to one-way systems. Our customers will notice some small differences but even in these unusual times, we can guarantee a great experience - delicious food, fresh draught beers and our usual warm welcome.”
