Despite coronavirus, residents and staff at Fairfield House in Lyme Regis celebrated Care Home Open Day.

Normally an opportunity to welcome people into the care home, this year, Care Home Open Day on June 26 focused on music and was a little different.

April Robinson of Fairfield House said: “This year was very different to the norm but everyone had a fun-filled afternoon.

“Tia and Paul from Classical Sounds performed from the outside in. This was the first live performance since the beginning of March. It was a very special hour for everyone and at the end of their performance, thanks and appreciation was conveyed for all our efforts in caring and keeping everyone safe during this challenging time. As a finale, they dedicated two songs to Fairfield - Amazing Grace and You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

During the interval, everyone enjoyed a cream tea.

There was also a raffle, which raised £128, and proceeds will go towards supporting resident activities.

April added: “Well done to all the prize winners and thank you to Wez and Lyme Regis Brewery, Paul at Lyme Tesco, Karl at Lyme Co-op, Debbie at Roly’s Fudge Pantry and Waitrose for your kind donations, especially at this time. Together our communities are amazing.

“Fairfield House look forward to Care Home Open Day 2021 to welcome you all back again.”
