Meet the newest additions to Dorset.

Here we celebrate extra special arrivals, most of whom came into the world at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) in Dorchester - and further afield.

Dorset Echo:

Theo Black, born May 7 at DCH weighing 8lb 7oz to Holly Lewis and Lewis Black of Weymouth.

Holly tells us: "I was induced on the 6th May at 1pm and had to go through the early stages of labour alone until 5am the next day when my partner came. Unfortunately we couldn’t have visitors but there were no complications and now I’m blessed with a gorgeous little boy."

Dorset Echo:

James Sime, born April 30 at DCH weighing 12lbs 5oz to Laura and Calum Sime of Weymouth. Brother to Evie.

Dorset Echo:

Charlie Ellis, born May 18 at DCH weighing 5lb 12oz to David and Kirsty Ellis of Eype. Little brother to Luke and Dylan.

Kirsty tells us: "I was induced as Charlie's growth had decreased slightly. Therefore I was in hospital on my own for two days, trying to keep my husband informed with what was happening each time a midwife or doctor saw me. When my waters broke my husband could come and hold my hand as that was when I got moved to a labour room on my own. It was a difficult time, but the midwives were amazing offering support and answering all my questions, even though they were clearly very busy."

Dorset Echo:

Harry Richard David Lane, born April 5 at home in Weymouth weighing 8lb 9oz to Megan and David Lane. Little brother to Madison.

Megan tells us: "I had an amazing water birth at home supported by Julie who is part of the wonderful Cygnet home birth team."

Dorset Echo:

Hailie Faith Verschuur, born May 16 at DCH to Tasmin and Jay Vershcuur of Weymouth. Little sister to Jay Junior.

Tasmin tells us: "Our little princess was due on May 4th but decided she was comfy cosy, I was booked in for induction on the 16th of may at 9am but I woke up at 2.30am with contractions and just over 3 hours later our beautiful baby girl arrived. Thanks to all of the wonderful midwives we felt safe and looked after and we were able to come home the same day."

Dorset Echo:

Ernie William John Gilbert born May 25 at home on Portland weighing 8lb 9ozs to Rob and Erin Gilbert. Little brother to Noah, Thea and Minnie.

Erin tells us: "I had a home birth with two excellent midwives from DCH Cygnet home birthing team, Sarah and Tara."

Dorset Echo:

Gracie-Rose Parker, born April 25 at DCH weighing 7lbs to Hannah Murray and Dean Parker of Weymouth

Hannah tells us: "Gracie-Rose Parker was born early hours on the 25/04/2020. Her Dad was only allowed to stay for the day and had to leave us in hospital due to the hospital rules around coronavirus. The midwifes and ladies in SCBU were amazing thank you for looking after us both."

Dorset Echo:

Jacob Frampton, born April 1 at DCH weighing 7lbs to Amy and Michael Frampton of Dorchester. Little brother to Jayden.

Amy tells us: "Jacob was born via C-section at Dorchester Hospital, weighing 7lb.
No visitors were allowed, so we video-called his older brother Jayden who was waiting patiently and eager to see his new baby brother. Jacob's daddy wasn’t allowed to leave the ward, if he did he would not be allowed back in until we where allowed home the next day. Dorchester Hospital were outstanding."
