ONE lucky raffle winner will be able to lay claim to a custom-made rainbow bench swing, built to celebrate the NHS.

Sitting Spiritually, a joinery company based in Lyme Regis has built and designed the one-of-a-kind bench swing to show their support for the work the NHS has done throughout the coronavirus crisis.

The raffle is set to begin on July 5 to coincide with the NHS celebrations taking place over the weekend. Entries will then be welcomed until the draw date on August 5.

Entry to the raffle is £10 per ticket, with the winning prize valued at over £3500. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to Dorset County Hospital.

Sitting Spiritually have suggested that people enter the raffle on behalf of a key worker or someone they know who deserves some additional recognition for the work they have done over the past three months.

The natural rainbow on the back of the seat is formed through from a variety of different woods including oak, chestnut, western red cedar, iroko, utile and walnut, all which have a natural variation in their hue.

The idea is that these durable woods will, over time, naturally fade to a more uniform silver.

With a bit of luck, the company are hoping for the rainbow to fade at roughly the same time as the coronavirus vaccine is predicted to be available for distribution.

The winning ticket will be drawn by a Dorset County Hospital nurse on August 5, and there will be a video of the draw available online.

The swing seat will be delivered and assembled for the winner, so long as they live in mainland United Kingdom.

Sitting Spiritually specialise in making wooden garden swing seats, pergolas, garden benches and rope swings for their customer base.

The Dorset-based company boasts seats in the gardens of Michelin Star restaurants and A-list celebrities throughout the country, along with seats enriching the gardens of a number of National Trust and RHS properties.
