A 1960s Dutch barn at Broad Road Farm, off the Beaminster Road, Bridport could be converted to a home.
The new property, which will be self-build, is proposed to be two storey with three bedrooms, including a single storey extension to the north side. The application also includes the demolish of two covered yards.
Application papers say the original farm was split in the 1990s with the main house retaining about ten acres of land and has since converted more traditionally constructed buildings to holiday lets.
An air source heat pump is proposed to provide under floor heating and hot water to the converted barn which will have a render finish with the first floor in overlapping boarding, matching the existing building.
