A person was cut free from their vehicle during a two-vehicle crash on Burton Road between West Bay and Burton Bradstock.

The road was reported to be blocked following the incident, which happened near at the junction of Marsh Barn at around 5.42pm yesterday.

Eyewitnesses say ambulance, police and fire crews attended the scene.

Two crews from Bridport fire station were sent to the scene.

A spokesman from the crew said: "The incident involved two vehicles with one casualty medically trapped.

"The casualty was being tended to by a passing nurse before crews arrived. Crews then stabilised the cars and assisted with casualty care.

"Paramedics arrived and carried out their assessments and requested the attendance of the air ambulance.

"Crews got to work and removed the roof of one vehicle and extracted the casualty on a spinal board and left them in the expert care of the air ambulance and land ambulance paramedics."
