Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens and Swannery will re-open to the public this week.

From today (Thursday) the gardens will be open and the Swannery will open its doors on Saturday.

The number of people visiting will be limited and slots must be booked online, even if you are a season ticket or HHA card holder.

The restaurant remains closed, along with the gift shop, but it is hoped the shop will re-open on June 15.

A spokesman said: “We are working hard behind the scenes to be able to open the restaurant when it is safe to do so and allowed by Government guidelines.

“Enhanced cleaning of toilets will be regularly undertaken. We are restricting the number of hourly entrances to the garden to 60 people, and parts of the Swannery will be out of bounds and activities reduced to minimise the likelihood of pinch points and social distancing breaking down.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support and patience during this difficult time. We hope that reopening these two relatively large open sites will provide a much-needed respite and place for relaxation during these difficult times.”

The plant centre is now open every day from 11am to 4pm.
