An application to demolish an existing modern shed at Old Manor Farm, Shipton Gorge, and replace it with a larger outbuilding has been agreed by Dorset Council.
Parish councillors raised no objection to the change commenting that they believed the new building would be an improvement.
The main house is a grade 2 listed building in the centre of the village conservation area.
Changes to reduce the size of the new building were made during the consultation process after the council’s conservation officer said he was unable to support the original proposal because of its size and scale which he considered excessive for the garden of a listed building.
