Fire crews are urging people not to have barbecues after one was put in a bin still hot at a west Dorset beach.
A spokesman for Charmouth Fire Station said: "On Sunday one of our crew members came across another barbecue which had been put in a bin still hot at our local beach. Luckily he dealt with it himself saving our resources from another call out.
"We have regularly been back to the Wareham Forest incident over the last 10 days which looks to have been caused by a number of items including disposable barbecues.
"Please, please, please, if you are having a barbecue make sure that it is fully extinguished before putting it in to a metal barbecue bin.
"If there’s not a bin designed for barbecues then take it home. Or even better, don’t have one in the first place."
