The air ambulance was called after a teenager 'jumped off a swing'.

Ambulances, along with the Devon Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene in the Lyme Regis area just after 11.30am on Tuesday.

A local resident saw the air ambulance land at around 12.15pm in Gore Lane at the Ware Cross end.

They said: "[They were] called out to assist a rope swing injury sustained in wooded area off Gore Lane. Three ambulances and a helicopter were at the scene.

"The helicopter pilot told us that it was a rope swing incident and I also know there is one in the woods."

A spokesman for Devon Air Ambulance said it was called at 11.32am to the Lyme Regis area to treat a male teenager after a fall. He was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford).

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called on Tuesday at just after 11.30am about an incident near the A3052 at Pinhay, Lyme Regis.

"The caller used the mobile app what3words to help us find the exact location of the incident.

"Our crews treated an injured male patient at the scene, and transported him by land ambulance to hospital for further care.

"The caller told us that a teenage boy had jumped off a swing and broken his ankle."
