A professional singer songwriter from Lyme Regis is holding a lockdown songwriting camp.

Charlotte Eve, who is running the course over Zoom, is urging anyone who thinks they have a Hey Jude inside them to sign up.

She has enjoyed songwriting success with her songs featured in film and TV around the world including Bafta winning BBC dramas. She originally trained with one of the UK’s greatest songwriting legends, Ray Davies, famed for songs like Waterloo Sunset. Now Charlotte wants to help inspire new songwriters too.

Over three days a small group of aspiring songwriters will meet with Charlotte Eve over Zoom to receive songwriting theory and song briefs to get them writing.

Charlotte said: “There will be tight deadlines and lots of ideas and cues to get people fired up and creatively inspired. You will be amazed how much you can create when you are given a deadline and some structure.

"The course is for everyone – you don’t need to read music.”

The Lockdown Songwriting Camp starts Monday, May 18 and lasts three days. It is designed for all abilities.

Charlotte says the three day songwriting workshop would usually be an expensive experience but since this is over Zoom and these are difficult times, the course is just £90.
