SOCIAL distancing for council staff and council services is likely to continue for a ‘considerable time’ – according to Dorset Council.
Work is now going on to re-configure offices where members of the public have access and in staff only areas to ensure social distancing.
Elsewhere the council is installing protective screens for the drivers of buses and mini-buses used to transport children to school and older people to and from day centres.
Cabinet spokesman for highways and transport Cllr Ray Bryan says talks are also being held about how to ensure safety on other buses used to take pupils to and from school, especially on routes which are shared with the public.
Further announcements are expected from Dorset Council in the coming days after the Government unveils its plans for the next phase at the weekend.
