Changes to the inside of Bridport’s Kingdom Hall in South Street have been approved – together with new signs for the outside.
Dorset Council said the interior alterations, include removing a more recent wall and re-modelling the space, which would have no detrimental effect on the 19th century listed building.
Bridport Town Council raised no objection to the changes but commented that they were unable to come to a fully informed decision because of a lack of detail in the application. Similar comments were initially made by the Dorset Council conservation officer who later agreed the changes, after consultation, with the imposition of a number of minor conditions.
The exterior changes include a new hanging sign and a replacement fascia sign, smaller than the existing one.
