WEYMOUTH Town Council has taken the decision to cancel this year's armed forces celebrations in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokesperson for the council said: "As we continue to follow the advice, guidance and daily updates from the government on the coronavirus outbreak, it is with great disappointment that the Weymouth Armed Forces / Veterans Celebrations that were scheduled to take place from 20th-22nd June have now been cancelled.
"We will continue to remember and support our armed forces and veterans and take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of these annual celebrations and commemorations."
The celebrations will return in 2021 and will take place from June 19-21.
