There are now 84 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Dorset.

The number of cases in the Dorset Council area has risen by nine to 45.

The number of cases in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area has risen by five to 39.

It means the overall number across the county is 84, an increase of 14 from the previous day.

It comes as a further 180 people have died as a result of the virus in the UK.  The UK death toll now stands at 1,408.

As of 9am yesterday, a total of 134,946 people have been tested, of which 22,141 were confirmed positive.

As of 5pm on Sunday night, 1,408 patients in the UK who tested positive for Covid-19 have died.

And 135 people have recovered from the virus, according to Public Health England.

The figures for test results and for deaths are compiled from different sources and this is why the figures for deaths are reported from an earlier point in time than the figures for test results.

Some people who report symptoms are not being tested - they are not included in these figures and therefore the number of cases is thought to be much higher.
