A SUSPECT wanted for police for more than 15 years over a brutal murder has been successfully extradited back to the UK.

Christopher Guest More Jr, from Lymm, was detained in Malta on a European arrest warrant in connection with the death of Brian Waters in June last year.

The 44-year-old dad-of-two was tied up, beaten with a metal bar, attacked with an industrial staple gun, whipped and burned with acid during a three-hour ordeal in June 2003.

More, 42, arrived back in the UK yesterday, Sunday, and is currently being held at HMP Altcourse.

He is due to appear before Chester Crown Court tomorrow, Tuesday.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Guest More Jr was arrested on June 6 2019 in Malta following an extensive international appeal to locate him.

“This involved close working between Cheshire Police and the National Crime Agency, along with law enforcement agencies abroad.

“He has since had several court appearances on the island as part of the extradition process, and Cheshire Police has liaised extensively with the Crown Prosecution Service, the attorney general’s office, the state advocate’s office in Malta, Malta Police Force and Malta’s Correctional Services Agency throughout the process.”

John Wilson, James Raven and Otis Matthews were jailed for life after being convicted of Mr Waters’ murder – with Wilson and Raven each receiving a minimum of 24 years behind bars in 2004 and Matthews being imprisoned for at least 22 years in 2007.

More is alleged to be one of a number of men who travelled to Burnt House Farm – near to junction 19 of the M6 – which was being rented by Mr Waters and used for growing cannabis, and demanded repayment of a £20,000 debt.

But these demands were refuted, and a number of people were attacked – including the murder victim.
