May 2007 air quality was so bad in Chideock that it was designated an air quality management area.

December 2008 an action plan was created, and a monitoring plan set up. This was reviewed in 2009.

In January 2010 there was a review of the review.

On the March 7, 2014 air quality news reported on the high levels of air pollution in Chideock.

On the February 27, 2019 the Dorset Echo reported on the high levels of pollution in Chideock.

On March 1, 2019 there was an article in this newspaper referring to the appalling pollution problem in Chideock.

The time has come for less talk and more action. Take all the results from exhaustive meetings and measurements to an environmental committee in parliament and get Government involved at a high level, it has the majority to solve this unacceptably long standing problem.

After all if HS2 can go from 12 to 25 miles of tunnel to protect the environment, then Chideock should have one too. Come on Mr. Loder just get it done.
