A timber-framed annexe could be added to Dolton House in West Road, if local planners agree.
An application for the building has been submitted to Dorset Council and will be out for consultation until April 14.
The proposal is for a 52 square metre building, about one third the size of the main house. The details include proposals for timber double glazed windows with the application saying that the annexe will be a self-build project.
