A former residential care home at Broadwindsor has won permission for conversion to a family home.

Dorset Council has approved the change of use for High Croft and Valley View. The parish council and the immediate neighbour raised no concerns about the change.

Council officers said that no external changes are being proposed for the building which has been a residential home since the late 1980s for adults with autism and has been empty for four years.

None of the statutory consultees raised any concerns about the changes, the highway authority noting that conversion to a house would result in fewer traffic movements.
