PUPILS from schools across Weymouth got into the fundraising spirit by taking part in a special run.

Weymouth College hosted a day dedicated to Sport Relief 2020, where students from several local schools took part in the fun.

Pupils, staff and parents from St John’s Primary School, Westfield School and Jelly Babies Day Nursery came together with the staff and students at Weymouth College to ‘run, jog, walk or toddle a mile’ to raise money for Sport Relief 2020.

The competitors were entertained throughout the event by music provided by Weymouth College student DJs and everyone was able to take advantage of a cake sale after they finished to replenish their energy. All proceeds from the cake sale also went to Sport Relief.

With more than 400 competitors taking part over the course of the day an amazing £450 was raised for the charity.

Andy Yates, Weymouth College Sports Development Officer, said: "It was really refreshing to see four local organisations pulling together to become active and raise money for Sport Relief today.

"It was a great turnout for a great charity.”
