STEP into spring and enjoy a night of dancing to toe-tapping tunes as Artsreach celebrates 30 years of bringing professional performances to rural communities across Dorset.

Artsreach is holding a celebratory Ceilidh in Martinstown on Friday, March 20 to mark its 30th birthday.

launched its first programme in 1990, with just nine communities hosting events. Now, 30 years on, the touring arts charity partners with volunteers in over 50 rural communities to present its programme of more than 150 professional performances every year.

Artsreach co-director Yvonne Gallimore said: “Ceilidhs were traditionally a gathering or social event to bring people together – Artsreach has been bringing communities together in order to share in a cultural experience for over thirty years, so what better way to celebrate our 30th anniversary than doing just that!”

Caller Angela Laycock will guide people through some traditional dances, supported by an energetic band of musicians, and friends of Artsreach, on strings, wind and percussion.
