MASSIVE levels of planned spending have been outlined in a major projects document from Dorset Council.
They include £31million for fostering agency placements; £11m for vehicle and heating oil and fuel; £7m for vehicle parts and associated services with another £1m on tyres; and £4.2m to Microsoft for licence agreements.
The majority of the amounts are spread over four years although £3m for traffic control and traffic signal equipment is over 5 years.
Also over five years is the £500,000 for the maintenance of Weymouth town bridge while £1million on harbour dredging will be spread over 4 years.
Other big ticket items included in a report for consideration by the council’s cabinet on March 3rd include £3m for civil engineering and construction materials; £4m for ‘green spaces services’; £2.5m for self-drive vehicle hire; £600,000 for cash collection; £8m for education, cleaning, janitorial and care services and £720,000 for the supply and delivery of stationary.
In total the spending projection adds up to £77.5 million – most of which will be offered to tender.
