SIX glamping pods have been agreed for the Highlands End holiday park at Eype.

The retrospective planning consent includes decking, electric hook ups, bench tables, gravel paths and landscaping.

The pods are at the southern end of the park which is accessed from Broad Lane over a private road with parking for six cars alongside.

Symondsbury parish council said it had no objection to the application but asked for further screening along the western side, although Dorset Council planning officers decided that what is already on site is adequate.

The planners decided that the pods cause no harm to the character and beauty of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty although they are visible from the South West coast path, as are other parts of the site.
