More than £1,200 was raised at the annual StynerSpin ball for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Members of StynerSpin, a spin class held in Pymore, decided to raise money for the charity through the raffle, which resulted in £1,297.

A spokesperson for StynerSpin said: “We would like to give a huge thank you to all who attended the evening and gave so generously buying tickets for the raffle. We would also like to thank all the local businesses that gave equally generously with prizes.”

A cheque was presented to air ambulance volunteers, Ron and Jan Bishop.

Lara Battersby, communications officer for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: “We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to the organisers of the StynerSpin annual ball for their amazing support and for raising £1,297 in aid of the charity.

“Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance receives no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery, so we are incredibly grateful for this donation which will help towards our operational costs.”
