Wessex Water’s Sutton Bingham Reservoir has reopened for the 2020 fishing season.

The 125-acre reservoir is located on the Dorset-Somerset border and has the facilities for fly fishing, top water trout fishing and other recreational activities.

Last season saw more than 3,000 anglers catch around 7,000 fish at the reservoir, with the largest rainbow trout caught weighing in at 16lbs.

Ivan Tinsley, who is ranger at the reservoir, said: “The reservoir has been well stocked with rainbows and brown trout averaging 2lb, with some surprise double figure specimens too.

“As well as fishing, visitors can also walk, sail and birdwatch at Sutton Bingham, making it a great place to visit if you’re looking to get active.”
