SOME computer systems at Dorset Council have been unavailable since the weekend storms which resulted in power outages.
Among those to run into trouble is the system which deals with planning applications for the former West Dorset District Council area, the former Weymouth and Portland area and the former North Dorset district council areas. None of these have been working since the early hours of Sunday morning although the systems for Purbeck and East Dorset continue to function normally.
It means that new application received since last Friday are not visible on the system and the public is unable to see, or comment on, any applications in those three areas.
Said a Dorset Council spokesperson on Monday afternoon: “We’ve been having issues with some of our systems following a power cut during the storm at the weekend, which unfortunately includes the planning portal. We’re aware of this and are hoping to get it up and running soon.”
