AN AWARD-WINNING storyteller from Dorset will bring her brand new show to Bridport on Tuesday, February 18.
Michele O'Brien will bring the story of The Ark and Dove to life at the Lyric Theatre with drama, dance and puppetry.
The plot begins in a charity shop, where Mary is pricing up donations. Through a treasure trove of objects she learns about the adventures of two ships, The Ark and Dove, a gripping story from the year 1633.
Audiences will then be transported into the life of Mary Jennings, a servant woman who travels west from the Isle of Wight. Risking everything, she journeys across treacherous waters in search of a better life.
In Maryland, America, Mary meets Mansi of the Piscataway tribute. The play follows the pair as they share stories, learn from each other, and became friends.
Suitable for audiences aged seven and above, the show starts at 2pm. Tickets are £8 for adults and £6 for children, available from the Lyric Theatre website or box office, or from Bridport TIC.
