The Rotary Club of Lyme Regis has donated £1,600 to the Rotary run Water Survival Box after a successful soup and ploughman’s event earlier this month.

This will be made up to £2,600 through match funding ‘obtained by the Water Survival Box.

The event, at the Alexandra Hotel, was attended by the mayor of Lyme Regis, Cllr Brian Larcombe MBE, and his consort, his wife Wendy, and by Rotarian Ken Briggs PHF of the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge, the club behind the Water Survival Box project.

Rotary president John Berry said: “This popular event has been run by Rotary annually over more than 20 years in the Alexandra Hotel.

“Sincere thanks once again to ‘The Alex’ for providing the venue and for your tremendous support for Rotary. Thanks also to everyone who came along and supported us, we are, as always, humbled by your generosity.”
