A man has been injured in a crash involving a lorry.
Emergency services were called to a single vehicle collision near Tiley Knap, Cosmore, shortly before 9.30am this morning.
Two fire crews from Sherborne, assisted by one from Yeovil and an enhanced rescue appliance from Dorchester were sent to the scene.
On arrival, one firefighter became a casualty carer until paramedics and a rapid response doctor could take over.
An extrication plan was put in place with assistance from paramedics. Crews then removed the windscreen and the casualty was removed from the vehicle and placed onto a spinal board before being carried to the awaiting ambulance.
The road remains closed.
The closure is in place between Middlemarsh and Revels Hill which police say is likely to remain in place for some time.
