AN APPEAL for donations has been launched by Rhyl's largest foodbank.

The service at the Foryd Community Centre, on Princes Street, has been left depleted by the demand following Christmas and currently only has reserves of tinned goods donated after a raft of donations in November.

A spokesperson for the food bank said: "We've been very hard it by the demand after Christmas, and although people were very good in November that's all we have left.

"We do have a lot of tinned goods such as beans and spaghetti, but as that's all we have to use in food parcels we'll soon run out of those goods too.We can't give people what they need to make full meals either, so it's quite serious."

The food bank is calling specifically for donations of Tinned meat and vegetables, pasta sauces, cereals, UHT milk, biscuits and frozen ready meals.

As Rhyl's largest food banks, the service can store fresh goods such as fruit that other food banks may not to help make food parcels more interesting.

To make a donation, the food bank is open from 9am until 4pm from Monday to Friday.
