Letter: We will not return to Lyme Regis if dogs are banned from the beach
During a recent stay at Lyme Regis, I was disappointed to hear about the forthcoming winter dog ban on the beach.
We have been visiting for 25 years but sadly will not return if this is to be the case.
In the morning it is just swimmers and dog walkers who socialise and even remove litter from the beach.
It seems particularly mean to pass this rule and I hope the locals ignore the ban. Otherwise during winter mornings and evenings you will have an empty beach and fewer visitors.
I hear Rye is a nice spot so that’s where we’ll be headed next year. Farewell Lyme Regis.
