Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog was struck by a car in west Dorset.

Dorset Police were called just before 2.25pm on Thursday, January 30 to the incident involving a group of dogs and a car on the A356 at Toller Down Gate, near Rampisham.

One of the dogs suffered minor injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Pete Moore, of Sherborne police, said: "I am keen to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision and would urge any witnesses to please get in touch.

"I am also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed a group of dogs on the A356 on Thursday, January 30 to please come forward.

"If you have any relevant dashcam footage to assist my investigation, please get in touch."
