Here's what our readers thought of Argos pulling out of Weymouth town centre
Another one bites the dust, sad times in Weymouth. Town council/ councillors hope your’e watching!

A nice lick of paint to make the building more attractive may help attract customers looks shabby and unappealing and the local hard done by wasters need moving as well.

It's been on the cards for over a year, hence why they didn't spend money on a "lick of paint". The huge giveaway was when they replaced all the in-store browsers in Dorchester, but not Weymouth....

Not surprised.
Choice, drive into Weymouth, park and pay then walk into town to collect or buy something from Argos, or drive to Sainsbury's, park for free and be home in half the time.
It was inevitable when Argos opened an outlet in the supermarket!!

This. Plus being able to collect in the evening after getting home from work.

Sad news , i use the town centre Argos a lot , order & pay online , then 7 days to collect , far easier for me to get to , then Sainsbury's . Have to bulk buy items that i buy regularly , stock up before they close .

Seems like a logical decision. The Dorchester branch would be closing too if Dorchester had a decent sized Sainsbury's. Weymouth is only losing the Argos store because its basically surplus to requirements.
