Hundreds gathered to pay their respects to rugby player Jamie Davis.
East Dorset played Bridport on Saturday - the club’s first game since Jamie took his own life earlier this month.
A minutes’ silence was observed by both teams and more than 100 spectators before kick-off and a spokesman said: “It was the spirit of the rugby community that was the winner.”
After the match, Blues’ president Peter Brook thanked all those from East Dorset for their courage and strength in completing the fixture and confirmed that a well-supported raffle, together with players’ match fees, meant that the club would donate £350 to the Jamie Davis Memorial Fund.
Ayo Fraser presented the East Dorset captain with a Bridport number three shirt signed by all the players to be passed on to Jamie’s family.
Jamie went missing from Christchurch on January 10 and his body was found in the early hours of January 11 in the Totton area of Hampshire.
Bridport were due to play East Dorset on January 18, but the match was postponed.
