AGE UK Dorchester holds regular surgeries where over 50s can ask an expert questions about benefits they may be entitled to receive. An initiative by Dorset Welfare Benefits Partnership, these Benefit Advice Sessions are one-to-one surgeries, free and by appointment only.

Sessions will operate on the following dates and venues:

Dorchester on the forth Thursday of each month at Rowan Cottage, 4 Prince of Wales Road (next available date February 27).

Weymouth on the second Thursday of each month at the Community Fire Station, Radipole Lane (next date February 13).

Bridport on the first Wednesday of each month at Age UK Dorchester shop, 16 West Street (next date February 5).

Portland on the second Tuesday of each month at Island Community Action, Easton Shopping Centre (next date February 11).

Lisa Holmes from Age UK Dorchester said: “We are working in partnership with Dorset Council and can assist older people to access the benefits they are entitled to such as Attendance Allowance and Pension Credit. If anyone is not sure about the benefits they may be able to claim I would encourage them to make an appointment at one of our surgeries or contact our welfare benefits team.”
