SEVERAL new landslips have taken place at cliffs towards the north end of Swanage Bay.
Swanage Coastguard Rescue Team was called to the scene on Wednesday (January 15), amid reports of debris at Burlington Chine.
Officers confirmed a number of landslips had occurred, close to the Grand Hotel in the town's Highcliffe area.
This follows on from multiple landslips in the same area towards the end of last year.

On Thursday, January 16, a Swanage Coastguard Rescue Team spokesman said: "After heavy rain last night, several reports of landslips at the northern end of the bay saw the team tasked to investigate.
"The first task was to check that no one was trapped and then tape the debris where it had fallen onto the footpath.
"There were several slips at Burlington Chine, near to the Grand Hotel and under Highcliffe where a beach hut had been pushed forward.
"Having checked the area the team returned to station."

The coastguard says the sites will now be assessed by council officers
The spokesman stressed: "These areas are still active and we would recommend that people observe from a distance."

Towards the end of December people were urged to stay away from the base of the cliffs in Swanage following multiple landslips.
On that occasion, Swanage Coastguard said the landslips – also at the north end of Swanage Bay – were thought to have happened on Boxing Day.
The latest landslide comes after days of heavy rain across Dorset which had seen a series of weather and flood warnings issued by the Met Office and Environment Agency.
