Walkers helped reunite a dog with its owner after it went missing on the coast path and feared to have plunged off the cliff.
Coastguard teams from Lyme Regis and Beer were called to Beer Head just before 3.45pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Beer Coastguard Rescue Team said: “The owner met us at the car park and within minutes had a call from two walkers that had found the dog wandering around the coast path, luckily the owner’s mobile phone number was on the collar.
“The dog and owner were soon reunited back at her car.”
Lyme Regis Coastguard was stood down on arrival at the station.
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: “The owners had done the right thing by calling us.”
