Residents in Bridport are being encouraged to provide feedback on the draft management plan proposed for Riverside Gardens.

Published by Bridport Town Council, the plan details objectives for the next five years and was designed following a consultation with local people and users of the gardens in December. The draft brings together ideas generated by the community and provides detail on the future management of defined areas of the gardens.

Bridport Town Council has committed to reviewing the management of all green spaces in the town, and to improve these areas while respecting the interests of users, local residents, and wildlife.

As a green space running either side of the river Asker, Riverside Gardens provides an area enjoyed by walkers, dog walkers and cyclists. Key objectives of the draft plan include: safeguarding walking and cycling access along the river corridor; undertaking tree and wildflower planting to provide wildlife interest and structure; enhancing community uses of the site; and providing natural play and fitness opportunities as well as additional seating.
