FOUR people were injured as a car crashed into a tree.

The incident happened on the A3052 between Lyme Regis and Charmouth at around 10.55pm yesterday.

A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call from a member of the public reporting a collision between a car and a tree on the A3052 between Lyme Regis and Charmouth near Dragons Hill.

"There was no report of anyone being trapped and one fire engine from Lyme Regis was mobilised to the incident.

"Upon arrival, the crew assisted the ambulance service with a number of casualties and requested a second fire engine to deal with the car.

"This second appliance was mobilised from Charmouth fire station. The crews assisted the ambulance service with a total of four casualties and also made the vehicle safe.

"A second ambulance was also requested. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening."
