A MICRO pub is making a special offer to help recover ticket costs for charity event after a devastating break-in.
The Convivial Rabbit in Trinity Street, Dorchester suffered a break-in earlier in December in which £540 was stolen - money which was from the sale of tickets for the Dorchester Beerex event in February.
To cover the costs of the event, which is to help the mental health charity Dorset Mind, the micro pub's proprietors Nigel and Nicky Baker are now selling two casks of ale.
A full 100 per cent of the profits of these sales will go towards supporting the event.
Nigel Baker from the Convivial Rabbit said: "We wanted to do something to help the festival and associated charity; we approached Copper St brewery of Dorchester which gave us a discounted rate on the beer which enables us to do the charity beer."
Dorchester Beerex 2020 Chairman Les Fry said: "The Beerex committee are really impressed and grateful that Nigel and Nicky are doing all they can to get us back on track. This will help Dorset Mind our primary charity and especially at this time of year reflects the goodness and generous spirit in people; " wish them a merry Christmas and thank them for the tremendous support."
Anyone with information about the break-in should contact Dorset Police.
