More than 100 people attended an illegal rave at Lambert's Castle on Sunday night and Monday morning.
Police were called at 12.15am on Monday to reports of the illegal rave in Marshwood.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "It is reported that between 100 and 150 people had attended the event.
"Colleagues from Devon and Cornwall Police attended, liaised with the event organisers and, following negotiation, achieved a proportionate outcome by requesting them to turn the music down.
"The matter was resolved by 7.49am.
"Officers from Dorset Police attended the site this morning [Monday] and confirmed that the event had ended."
